Josh Hooton, DNP, A/GNP-C, FNP-C – Noetic Psychiatry


Dr. Josh Hooton graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Utah Valley University, where he also served in the Department for Academic Excellence. He then attended the University of Utah where he earned his Doctorate of Nursing Practice with an emphasis on Adult/Gerontology and Family Nurse Practitioner Primary Care. He was also the recipient of George S. and Delores Doré Eccles Graduate Fellowship, which are awarded to students that possess “unusual ability and achievement.”

During his time at the University of Utah, Dr. Hooton wrote his clinical dissertation on effective principles of opioid management in a primary care setting. During his career, Dr. Hooton has developed chronic pain management treatment plans for a variety of mental health patients and provided intensive outpatient psychiatric care to them as well.

Dr. Hooton is passionate about providing mental health care to members of the community. He is dedicated to further advancing his knowledge of pain management, medication management, and psychiatry by completing his psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner national credential in addition to his suboxone/buprenorphine license to help treat the opioid abuse/dependence epidemic.
